In Moldova, 9.13% of the population is fully vaccinated, the Ministry of Health calls for more active vaccinations in order to prepare for a new outbreak of COVID-19.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, over 56 thousand people received the vaccine in the last week, which is 12% more than in the previous seven days. Since the start of the coronavirus immunization campaign in Moldova, more than 803 thousand people (14.3% of the population) have received one dose of the vaccine. Almost 313.5 thousand people (9.13% of the population) were fully vaccinated. At the same time, about 14% of residents supplied the vaccine in Chisinau municipality, and in the southern regions of the country the level of vaccination is the lowest - 6-8% (Taraclia, Comrat, Vulcanesti, Ceadir-Lunga). The lowest rates of vaccination are among the population aged 18-29 (less than 8%), and the highest are among the population aged 70-79 (almost 38%). According to the Ministry of Health, 53% of those vaccinated in Moldova are men, 47% are women. The department knows about 1.4 thousand cases of adverse reactions, while 93% of them are mild, 6.9% are moderate. The most common adverse reactions to the vaccine are fever, local pain, and muscle pain. To date, more than 84% of health workers have been vaccinated against coronavirus, which has contributed to a 90% decrease in the incidence among them. The Ministry of Health calls on all citizens to get vaccinated by signing up for a vaccination on the www.vaccinare.gov.md platform or by contacting a family doctor, especially in the context of the alarming increase in the number of new cases of the disease in the world and the spread of new strains of coronavirus (delta, lambda). According to forecasts of epidemiologists, a new wave of infections can be expected in Moldova in August-September. It is worth noting that so far Moldova has received 1,248,090 doses of vaccines from various manufacturers, 83% of the Astrazeneca vaccine has already been used, 81% - Sputnik-V, 99.9% - Pfizer, 11.9% - Sinofarm and 6.2% - Sinovac. In the coming days, the distribution of the American J&J vaccine will begin, received the day before in the amount of 151.2 thousand doses. It is also expected to supply 100.6 thousand doses of Pfizer vaccine, provided free of charge by the Romanian authorities, and 50 thousand vaccines, provided by the Latvian government.
