
Construction works in Moldova decreased by 10.9% (in comparable prices) in January-March 2023, compared to the same period in 2022.
The National Bureau of Statistics reported this, noting that the index decreased due to the reduction of new constructions by 25.6% and other constructions works (demolitions, works for preparing the building site for further construction works, etc.) by 10.1%, according to the elements of the structure. At the same time the volume of work on capital repair in the period under review increased by 35.9%, and the volume of work on current maintenance and repair increased by 0.5% as compared to January-March 2022. As to the objects of construction in January-March 2023, compared to the same period of 2022, the volume of construction work performed in residential buildings (-34.3%), non-residential buildings (-5.1%) decreased (in comparable prices).
