In Moldova, another 336 families replaced their old household appliances with more energy-efficient new ones under the EU-supported EcoVoucher program
The Ministry of Energy and the National Center for Sustainable Energy announced this, noting that from June 12 to 28, a new stage of the state program of vouchers for household appliances (EcoVoucher) was held in the country. Under this program, 336 families received financial assistance for the purchase of new energy-efficient household appliances. Each voucher is worth 6,000 lei and covers up to 70% of the cost of new household appliances. During this stage, voucher beneficiaries purchased 173 refrigerators and 163 washing machines. All purchased goods meet energy efficiency criteria and European Conformity Standards (CE). Voucher beneficiaries were able to purchase refrigerators of energy efficiency classes A, B, C, and D, as well as washing machines of class A. Among the recipients of the current stage are: 244 families with minor children; 56 people over 63 years old; 36 people with severe disabilities. The program's beneficiaries are determined based on eligibility criteria and data registered on the compensation.gov.md platform. The program also encourages the recycling of old equipment, promoting responsible management of electrical and electronic waste.
