An agreement has been signed with Lukoil to transfer its assets to Chisinau Airport on a temporary basis free of charge, with the airport subsequently purchasing them - the Ministry of Energy
As announced by Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu, the oil terminal at Chisinau Airport is a strategic asset for the state, so it is important that kerosene supplies for the aviation sector are carried out without interruption. To this end, a working group set up to address fuel supply issues, together with the state-owned Chisinau International Airport, prepared and implemented a management plan to ensure uninterrupted fuel supplies. Accordingly, on November 12, an agreement was signed with Lukoil to take over the management of assets at the airport free of charge, and on November 13, the process of transferring the property was completed. As explained by the head of the Ministry of Energy, the free-of-charge agreement ensures the supply of kerosene and is an emergency solution to ensure the stability of aircraft supplies in the context of the risk that Lukoil will be unable to deliver and operate from November 21. "At the same time, we have agreed with a Romanian company to sell fuel to the airport for the near future. The export should be approved today. During this period, Chisinau International Airport will be responsible for the operation of the oil terminal. The next step will be the purchase by Chisinau International Airport of the airport's assets and infrastructure belonging to Lukoil," said Dorin Junghietu. While speaking about the gas stations owned by Lukoil in Moldova, the head of the Ministry of Energy noted that there are about 100 gas stations on the market offering petroleum products. However, the petroleum products market in Moldova is currently diversified: there are several operators with different logistics supply chains, both by land in Romania and through the port of Giurgiulești, so the market is supplied with fuel and its reserves are stable. // 14.11.2025 – InfoMarket.
