
The Ministry of Energy of Moldova announced a competition to select 4 out of 9 members of the Moldovagaz Management Board, who will be nominated on behalf of the department.
As noted in the message from the Ministry of Energy, the mandate of some members of the Board expires in June, and the department decided to select candidates through an open competition. “By electing members of the Moldovagaz Management Board on a competitive basis, we will be able to appoint independent and highly qualified individuals, thereby strengthening governance in the field of state-owned enterprises and transparency in the gas sector, in accordance with Moldova’s international obligations in the process of European integration,” said the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Energy, Chairman competition committee Constantin Borosan. He noted that the competition commission also included a representative of civil society in the person of Sergiu Tofilat, who is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Moldovagaz, an analyst in finance and energy. According to the Regulations on the competition, candidates for the position of member of the Management Board of Moldovagaz must meet a number of conditions. They must be citizens of Moldova, have a higher education and have no political affiliation. Also, candidates must have at least 3 years of work experience and at least 1 year in management positions. The dossier for participation in the competition must contain a resume, a letter of intent regarding participation in the competition, as well as the concept of the development vision of Moldovagaz in the current regional context and recommended measures that need to be taken to ensure the security of natural gas supplies to Moldova. Supporting documents about citizenship, education, work experience and lack of criminal record are also required. Dossiers for participation in the competition can be submitted in physical format to the Ministry of Energy or by email to mailto:secretary@energie.gov.md until July 5 (17:00). It should be noted that currently the Management Board of Moldovagaz from Moldova includes: Vadim Ceban, Vitalie Turcanu, Ilie Tutunaru and Alexandru Sevciuc, and 5 more people represent the majority shareholder - Gazprom. As the InfoMarket agency previously reported, the net profit of Moldovagaz in 2023 amounted to 1 billion 093.7 million lei against losses of 323.21 million lei a year earlier. The authorized capital of Moldovagaz is 1 billion 332.9 million lei.
