The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) informed that, at the same time, in value terms the volume of gas purchase in January-March, 2022 increased 4.8 times as compared with the same period of the previous year - from 1 billion 165.3 million to 5 billion 587.7 million lei. At the same time, the average gas purchase price in terms of lei increased almost 5 times during the year - from 2222 lei (without VAT) per 1,000 cubic meters in the 1st quarter of 2021 to 11003 lei per 1,000 cubic meters in the 1st quarter of 2022. According to ANRE, in January-March 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, the volume of gas supplies to the country's end consumers in physical terms decreased by 12.2% - to 474.3 cubic meters, and in value terms - increased 2.8 times - up to 6 billion 732.8 million lei. At the same time, the tariff for consumers increased over the same period by an average of 3.2 times - from 4394 to 14197 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters. According to ANRE, in particular, in the first quarter of 2022, compared with the same period of the previous year, the population reduced gas consumption in physical terms by 14.9% - from 213.9 million to 182.1 million cubic meters, and in monetary terms, the figure increased 2.8 times - from 993 million to 2 billion 757 million lei. Energy sector enterprises in January-March 2022 used 181 million cubic meters of gas for 2 billion 421.8 million lei. At the same time, compared to the same period of the previous year, their gas consumption in the first quarter of 2022 decreased by 11.9% in physical terms, and increased 2.7 times in monetary terms. Gas consumption by budgetary institutions decreased by 19.7% in physical terms, but increased 2.6 times in monetary terms. In January-March 2022, they used 23.4 million cubic meters of gas for 340.8 million lei.
