Energocom signed a contract with the Ukrainian company Ukrhydroenergo to purchase 30% of electricity needs in May.
This was announced by the Public Property Agency of Moldova, noting that the Ukrainian operator will start supplying electricity to Moldova on May 12. As Energocom's Acting CEO Vladimir Sadovoi said, negotiations were held directly with Ukrainian electricity companies, including Energoatom, D. Trading and others, who were requested to supply 30% of Moldova's electricity needs. “At the request of the Ukrainian side, the purchase price of electricity under this contract is a commercial secret and cannot be disclosed, but I can confirm that this is a lower price than the bids received at the previous tender,” said Vladimir Sadovoi. At the end of April, Energocom, based on direct negotiations, signed a contract for the purchase of electricity from Moldavskaya GRES at a price of $59.5 per MWh. Moldavskaya GRES undertook to provide 70% of the needs of the right bank of the Dniester in electricity for May. As mentioned by the Public Property Agency of Moldova, according to the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations, Energocom concludes procurement contracts with manufacturers, after which - with suppliers and distributors. NAER is going to analyze the average purchase price to determine if a tariff adjustment is required. Earlier it was reported that Energocom agreed with Moldavskaya GRES that it would supply electricity to the right bank of the Dniester for at least another month - until the end of May, but its selling price would increase from $53.5 to $59.5 per MWh. Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita noted then that, according to preliminary data from NAER, an increase in the purchase price of electricity to $59.5 per MWh would not entail an increase in tariffs for end consumers.// 11.05.2022 — InfoMarket
