The Benelux countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg) express their strong support for Moldova's European path

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi received a delegation of foreign ministers from the Benelux countries in Chișinău today, including Luxembourg's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Xavier Bettel, Belgium's Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxime Prévot and Dutch Director-General for European Cooperation Heleen Bakker. The parties discussed Moldova's European integration, the fight against hybrid threats, the parliamentary elections on September 28, strengthening institutional stability, and the impact of Russia's war against Ukraine on regional security. Economic cooperation and the interest of investors from the Benelux countries in the Moldovan market were also discussed. The Moldovan Foreign Minister noted that the joint presence of the Benelux foreign ministers is clear evidence of solidarity and support for Moldova's European path. “Moldova is going through a decisive stage for its future, and the support of Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands inspires us to continue reforms and build a democratic and prosperous society,” he said. The representatives of the Benelux countries, in turn, noted that they support Moldova's sovereignty, advocate for free and fair elections and the fight against any external interference that could affect democratic stability, and promote Moldova's European integration, friendship, and solidarity. //25.08.2025 – InfoMarket.
