The CEC of Moldova has set the amount of monthly allocations from the state budget for political parties in 2023 from the total amount provided for them of almost 50 million lei.

The Central Electoral Commission recalled that within the framework of the Law on the state budget for the current year, the Central Election Commission was allocated about 49.98 million lei to finance political parties, which is about 7 million lei more than last year, and this increase is due to the growth of the state budget revenue. Political parties are eligible to receive state budget allocations based on their performance in parliamentary, general local and presidential elections, as well as on the number of women and young people elected in parliamentary and local elections. In accordance with the legislation, subsidies for parties are distributed as follows: 30% - in proportion to the results in the parliamentary elections; 30% - in proportion to the results in the general local elections; 15% - in proportion to the results obtained in the presidential elections; 7.5% - in proportion to the number of women actually elected during the parliamentary elections; 7.5% - in proportion to the number of women actually elected in local elections; 5% - in proportion to the number of young people actually elected in the parliamentary elections; 5% - in proportion to the number of young people actually elected in local elections. As a result, by the decision of the Central Election Commission adopted today, for each valid vote received in the early parliamentary elections on July 11, 2021, 0.85 lei will be paid from the budget in the form of monthly allocations; for each vote received in the general local elections on October 20, 2019 - 0.43 lei; in the presidential elections on November 1, 2020 - 0.68 lei. The amount of monthly allocations for each woman actually elected during the early parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021 is 7809.48 lei, and during the general local elections of October 20, 2019 - 75.83 lei. For each young person actually elected in the early parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021, the amount of monthly appropriations was set at 13,015.80 lei, and during the general local elections of October 20, 2019 - 123.29 lei. As a result, the largest amounts in 2023 will be received by: PAS - 18 million 741 thousand 151.6 lei, the Party of Socialists - 9 million 978 thousand 747.99 lei, the former Democratic Party (renamed the European Social Democratic Party) - 4 million 811 thousand 363.72 lei, Sor party - 3 million 498 thousand 524.37 lei, Our Party - 3 million 368 thousand 916.26 lei, DA platform - 3 million 282 thousand 636.48 lei, Party of Communists - 2 million 391 thousand 863.6 lei. Allocations from the state budget will be transferred to the parties on a monthly basis to their special bank account intended for these purposes.
