The first tranche of €270 million under the €1.9 billion Growth Plan for Moldova will be allocated to specific projects that will boost the economy - Daniel Voda

This was announced by the government spokesman, who noted that, overall, the funds allocated under the EU Growth Plan are an investment in the country's economic prosperity. "The first tranche of €270 million will be allocated to very specific projects already planned by the authorities. We are not wasting any time and are already starting work on repairing 200 km of regional roads and 100 km of local roads, some of which have not seen asphalt since independence," said Daniel Voda. According to him, EU funds will also be used to modernize canteens in all schools in the country. The renovated canteens will provide free meals to more than 295 thousand schoolchildren. Investments will be made in energy efficiency, in particular, the central heating systems in old apartment buildings in Chisinau, Balti, and Comrat will be renovated so that people pay less for utilities. The money will also go towards projects to connect the country to Romania's energy grid; direct support for entrepreneurs through grants and equipment; and support for women entrepreneurs and the HoReCa sector. "The growth plan is about roads, schools, heating, and entrepreneurship. It is a real economic boost. It is an investment with a view to the future of the country," said the government spokesman. // 10.07.2025 – InfoMarket.
