The budget for the Interreg VI-B NEXT grant program for the Black Sea Basin for 2021-2027 will be increased by €20 million to €85 million

This is provided for by Amendment N1 to the Financing Agreement between Moldova, the European Commission, and the Ministry of Development, Public Works, and Administration of Romania for the Interreg VI-B NEXT program for the Black Sea Basin for 2021-2027, ratified by the Moldovan Parliament. The agreement itself was signed on August 11, 2023. Eight countries are participating in this program—Moldova, Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Romania, Turkey, and Ukraine—which can receive grants to implement specific projects. The program aims to support research and innovation projects, implement projects related to climate change adaptation, natural disaster risk prevention, nature conservation, and strengthening relations between communities. Thanks to the signed amendment, the total budget of the program, which is €65 million, will be increased by another €20 million to €85 million. As previously noted by the government, the first competition under this program started in 2023. Ten beneficiaries were selected from Moldova, which will receive a total of €1.5 million in funding. Ninety-seven beneficiaries from Moldova applied for the second competition. As a result, 13 projects from Moldova were selected for a total amount of €3.7 million. // 08.05. 2025 – InfoMarket.
