Moldovan government hopes to continue implementing many important projects with the financial support of the USA - Dorin Recean
Prime Minister said this at a press conference after a government meeting. He thanked “the USA and the American people for the many very good projects” implemented in Moldova since 1992. Dorin Recean singled out in this respect the wine-making sector, which, with the USA's support, got back on its feet and strengthened after the Russian wine embargo. Prime Minister emphasized that the success of the Moldovan wine, the growth of its exports, the expansion of the geography of supplies, the positive image at the regional and global levels are due to the great assistance provided by the USA. The USA also provided a great assistance to the textile industry, as well as to the information technologies sector. According to Prime Minister, many projects have been implemented with US support at the local level. “Among them, the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Causeni has been restored and we have an extraordinary Orthodox gem thanks to the US assistance,” Dorin Recean said. He noted that many kindergartens were built in Moldova with the USA’s support. Important assistance was provided in the tourism sector, including in the development of guest houses and tourist routes. Since 2023, the USA has provided Moldova with more than $80 million to help citizens through their accounts due to the increase in energy tariffs. Important green energy projects have been implemented. Dorin Recean said that “it could take several days to list all the good and beautiful things that have been done with USA’s assistance.” He expressed his firm belief that the implementation of projects with USA’s funding will continue, possibly with some adjustments. “The Government has already identified a number of opportunities so that projects in the energy sector, which is a strategic area of the state, as well as other projects in culture, media, fighting disinformation and so on, will have a continuation. The institutions in charge of foreign policy will ensure that Moldova's agenda is also taken into account in the White House,” Prime Minister said. “We will have to make certain adjustments to the projects, but I firmly believe that we will continue the cooperation programs with the Government of the USA,” Dorin Recean said. // 05.03.2025 - InfoMarket
