The percentage of pre-financing from the €1.8 billion Moldova Fund may increase from 7% to 20% - Siegfried Mureşan

This was stated by the European Parliament co-rapporteur on the €1.8 billion Moldova Growth Plan, noting that he had requested an increase in pre-financing from 7%, as envisaged by the European Commission's legislative proposal, to 20% of the total amount from the Moldova Fund. The MEP noted that he had presented today to the specialized committees of the European Parliament a draft report on the €1.8 billion European Fund for Moldova. "It is important that these funds reach Moldova as soon as possible to finance roads, hospitals, bridges and the modernization of public administration. These are measures that lead to an increase in the standard of living of people and accelerate the country's European integration. Moldova needs this money. And it is much more useful now than in 2-3 years. This is why I proposed to increase the pre-financing that the EU provides to Moldova shortly after the mechanism enters into force, but before the actual implementation of the Reform Programme, on the basis of which the funds from the mechanism will be absorbed,” said Siegfried Mureşan.// 12.12.2024 — InfoMarket
