Moldova will receive grants worth 24.7 million euros from Germany for the development projects of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and urban infrastructure.

The parliament's press service reported this, noting that this will be envisaged by a draft agreement with the German government on the financing of the projects "Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Development Facilitation Project in the Republic of Moldova", "Additional Measures to Promote SME Development in Moldova", "Open Urban Development Program in Moldova" and "Additional measures of the Open Urban Development Program in Moldova". The Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission approved the launch of negotiations and the subsequent signing of the agreement. The German development bank KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau) is expected to provide up to 24.7 million euros in grant financing. In particular, the project "Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Development Facilitation Project in the Republic of Moldova ", which is aimed at expanding the offer of credits at affordable prices for small and medium-sized enterprises in Moldova, will be financed with up to 10 million euros. At the same time, up to 700 thousand euros will be provided to finance the project "Additional Measures to Promote SME Development in Moldova". The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization will be the implementing partner of the projects dedicated to SME development, while the Entrepreneurship Development Organization will implement them. The project "Open Urban Development Program in Moldova", which aims at rehabilitating the existing infrastructure, implementing new and environmentally sustainable infrastructure in the water supply and sewerage sectors, as well as improving energy efficiency, will receive up to 13 million euros. Within the program, priority will be given to water supply and sanitation projects in the north of Moldova and an energy efficiency project in Chisinau. At the same time, up to 1 million euros will be allocated for the project "Additional Measures of the Open Urban Development Program in Moldova". This program envisages strengthening the agency or agencies implementing financial cooperation projects in terms of technical services and economic efficiency.
