
Moldova: 541 projects worth 759 million lei were successfully implemented under the national programs "European Village" and "European Village Express" in 2023.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development reported this, noting that, in particular, 264 projects worth about 658 million lei have been implemented within the "European Village" program, and 277 projects with a total budget of 101 million lei have been implemented within the "European Village Express" program. The implemented projects have a significant impact on improving the quality of life of about 358 thousand citizens from rural settlements. In particular, within the National Program "European Village", 264 out of 497 approved projects have been implemented in 2023. Their total cost amounted to about 658 million lei; the money was allocated from the National Fund for Regional and Rural Development. Within the "European Village Express" program, 277 out of 399 approved projects were successfully implemented, with a total budget of 101 million lei. Out of 541 implemented projects, 181 of them had as their main goal the improvement of sports and recreational infrastructure, including the construction of playgrounds, creation of access roads and modernization of parks. One of the largest of these projects was the construction of a tennis court and provision of sports equipment at the multi-purpose sports stadium in Corlateni village, Riscani district. The investments in this project reached almost 1 million lei. At the same time, 102 projects were aimed at restoring public buildings, directly influencing the appearance and usefulness of public spaces in our villages. An illustrative example is the project in Ciumai village, Taraclia district, where the rehabilitation of the secondary school led to a significant improvement of the learning conditions for children from 8 localities within the commune. Within the framework of 90 projects, public lighting systems were modernized and 22 modern photovoltaic power plants were built, contributing to improved visibility and safety on local roads. Notable achievements were noted in the village of Florițoaia Veche, Ungheni district, where a complete reconfiguration of the public lighting network on 17 km of streets was ensured. Another 64 settlements have implemented projects for the construction of water supply and sewerage systems. A striking example in this respect is the project realized in the village of Truseni, Chisinau municipality. The investments in this project amounted to almost 10 million lei. At the same time, within 54 projects, cultural centers in different localities were repaired and modernized. An important example is the Sipoteni commune, Calarasi district, where about 2.7 million lei was invested in the purchase and installation of high-quality theater seats and acoustic systems, which will be used by more than 7,000 residents. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Moldova is taking important steps towards sustainable urban development, as evidenced by the 21 completed projects on the elaboration of urban master plans in different localities. The village of Cruzesti from Chisinau municipality stands out as a successful model in this respect, having received the government's support with an investment of 650 thousand lei. Also, in 13 localities of the country, children's groups have been renovated out of 22 projects included in the state program "Childcare services for children up to 3 years old". As it was reported earlier, the deadline for the implementation of the "European Village" program has been extended for 6 months, while the mayors have another 3 months to implement the projects within the "European Village Express" program. // 02.01.2024 – InfoMarket
