Wear the Romanian blouse with pride! Maib people celebrated the Universal Day of the Romanian Blouse by wearing the traditional attire

On the Universal Day of the Romanian Blouse, maib team members from all over the country wore one of the most iconic pieces of our national costume — the ie — a true symbol of Romanian identity, roots, and cultural heritage. It is part of maib culture to pay tribute to the national shirt every year on June 24, with maib people wearing it and celebrating the tradition that represents us.

Whether they chose traditional, hand-embroidered blouses or modern reinterpretations, maib people brought a splash of color, emotion, and authenticity today to our offices and branches.
Through this simple yet deeply meaningful gesture, maib reaffirms its commitment to promoting the values that define us as a society and to keeping our traditions alive.

Doina Fetco, Marketing Director at maib:
The traditional blouse is not just a piece of clothing — it's a powerful symbol of our culture. At maib, where the dress code is already informal, we wear with even more joy what connects us to our roots. Beyond that, we proudly support communities that keep this art alive — like Șezătoarea Basarabiei, where each traditional blouse is brought to life with care, craftsmanship, and soul.”

Every year on June 24, we celebrate the Universal Day of the Romanian Blouse — a heartfelt tribute to our traditional costume, with the Romanian Blouse proudly recognized as part of the world’s intangible heritage.
Maib – wearing the Romanian blouse with pride!
