Maib team - an example of corporate volunteering within the "Meal of Joy" campaign

Easter should bring happiness for everyone and in every home. Therefore, on April 27, the Social Mission "Diaconia" announced a yellow code of good deeds as part of the "Meal of Joy" (Masa Bucuriei) campaign, gathering dedicated volunteers to make holidays happier for people in need.

Once again, this year, maib was the company with the most employees joining the initiative as volunteers, contributing to the collection of almost 58 thousand kilograms of non-perishable foods. During the day, maib people and around 1000 volunteers urged supermarket shoppers to donate non-perishable products to feed a hungry person.

The donations collected will be distributed as food parcels during the Easter holidays and used to prepare hot lunches offered throughout the year to people in need through soup kitchens.

Iulia Bogușevschi, Head of Corporate Communication Band at maib:
"Maib people have again joined forces this year to contribute to a charitable cause in the "Meal of Joy" campaign. We are proud of maib's good deeds ambassadors, about 30 volunteers, who urged supermarket buyers to donate and give a reason for happiness to people in need.
By participating in such initiatives, we become better and create a more kind, generous, and friendly world around us, where there are possibilities for everyone, and where fewer and fewer people feel alone and face difficulties."

Igor Belei, Executive Director of the Social Mission “Diaconia”:
"This year, we had the most successful social campaign, with the most extensive presence in the Republic of Moldova so far. The results are outstanding, with an absolute record in food donations for people in need, a sign that this campaign has become part of a joint, indispensable approach to society in the run-up to the Easter holidays.
We strongly believe that the "Meal of Joy” is more than just about generosity and involvement, it is about educating the young generation to be kinder and more empathetic."

"Meal of Joy" is the largest national project to support people in need, which aims to encourage solidarity and people's involvement in volunteer-based initiatives. The 15th edition of the "Meal of Joy"  campaign took place in 103 shops in Chișinău and 25 other towns and villages in the country.
Maib participates for the third year in a row in the "Meal of Joy" campaign, and the number of bank volunteers is increasing annually.
