Together from Eurovision! The "Zdob și Zdub" and the Advahov Brothers came home from Turin

The members of the "Zdob și Zdub" band and the Advahov Brothers, who represented our country at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC 2022), came home victorious and proud of the 7th place they ranked in the grand final of the competition on May 14, accumulating a total of 253 points. The band "Zdob și Zdub" and the Advahov Brothers evolved with the song "Trenulețul", which harmoniously combines rock'n'roll style and folklore with national elements and values.
During the press conference organized for the artists' return to Chisinau, they shared the emotions they experienced, the challenges they had during their participation in ESC. Overall, they were satisfied with the performance they had, but also impressed by the support of national and international community.
Roman Iagupov, "Zdob și Zdub" lead singer:
"Despite all the impediments, our" train "did not derailed from the route and reached directly the most desired destination - the hearts of millions of people in all countries. The 2nd place in televoting is Moldova’s victory. I felt that it wasn't us on the big stage - the artists, but all of you, our dear public. Thank you for your trust. We would like to thank all the project partners and the people who helped us”
This year, the participation of the "Zdob și Zdub" band and the Advahov Brothers in the international competition was supported by the general partner maib - the largest bank in Moldova. Maib sponsored Moldova's participation in the Eurovision for the second time, and this corporate social responsibility event went along with the bank's anniversary, which celebrated 31 years on May 8. Through this partnership, maib showed resilience in its supporting actions towards the culture development, promoting local artists and bringing music fans closer to quality European music.
Aliona Stratan, First Vice President of maib:
"Watching Eurovision, I felt extremely proud of the performance of the Republic of Moldova on the Turin stage. Our artists have shown a great stage performance, full of energy, joy, with a simple message, but at the same time strong. For us, they are winners and we enjoyed having the opportunity to collaborate on this successful journey. For maib, supporting culture and art is one of the key elements of social responsibility in which we will continue to invest”.
Teleradio-Moldova (TRM) has been organizing Eurovision Moldova since 2005.
Vladimir Turcanu, General Manager of Teleradio-Moldova Company:
"Our musicians have been noticed by the international press and even praised, being a model. This means that in addition to the artistic satisfaction of following our artists, Zdob și Zdup and the Advahov brothers have accomplished their mission brilliantly and deserve our gratitude.”
