Daniel Voda stressed that Moldovan products were too often used by the Russian authorities as a tool for political blackmail, recalling that when the Russian side was dissatisfied with something, Rosselkhoznadzor crushed Moldovan apples with bulldozers. The government spokesman noted that “the Moldovan apple remains a simple but powerful symbol.” “It is grown with care in our orchards, exported to dozens of countries, and valued in the European Union, the Middle East, and other markets where quality matters,” said Daniel Voda. According to Russian media reports, at the border of Russia's Pskov region, Rosselkhoznadzor specialists did not allow 20.5 tons of apples from Moldova to pass, citing discrepancies in the accompanying documents, discrepancies between the information on the labels and the phytosanitary certificate. In particular, it was noted that the information about the manufacturer of the products in the documents did not match. This became the basis for declaring the certificate invalid.
