The procedure of obtaining a driver's license will be simplified in Moldova
Such a decision was adopted by the government. In particular, the procedure of obtaining a driver's license will be simplified and adapted to the needs of citizens. According to the amendments approved by the Cabinet of Ministers to the Regulation on the examination procedure for obtaining the right to drive vehicles, on the procedure of issuing and validity of the driving license, the admission to the examination will be possible using the automated information system “Register of institutions for training drivers of vehicles and trainees”. The submission of paper-based training documents will also be eliminated, which will contribute to the digitalization of the entire process. “Thus, we simplify procedures, reduce corruption and improve the quality of the procedure for obtaining a driver's license,” Prime Minister Dorin Recean said. Another change concerns the simplification of the procedure for obtaining a driver's license for certain categories of vehicles; for example, persons holding a category B driver's license for vehicles with a manual transmission, when passing the exam for another category, drivers of vehicles with an automatic transmission, will also be able to drive vehicles with a manual transmission of this category. At the same time, persons holding a category B driver's license for at least 24 months will be able to apply for the right to drive vehicles of subcategory A1 (motorcycles), subject to completing a full course of practical training, without theoretical training and examination. The document will enter into force 30 days after its publication in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova). // 16.10.2024 - InfoMarket.
