The draft National Program for Entrepreneurship Development and Competitiveness Enhancement for 2023-2027 has been presented to the Moldovan business community.

This document was elaborated by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization with the support of the Secretariat of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister and other stakeholders. According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the draft national program was presented on Tuesday to representatives of state institutions and business environment. Measures to develop entrepreneurship and improve the business environment, as well as the government's actions in this direction were discussed during a meeting of a working group comprising representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the Economic Council under the Prime Minister, the business community, etc. The State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, Veronica Arpintin, said during the discussion that the program has 3 general objectives: to improve the legislation regulating the business environment; to facilitate access to finance and increase the competitiveness of local products and services, including on foreign markets; to develop entrepreneurial culture. The program is designed to: promote and support sustainable, inclusive economic growth; support implementation and compliance with environmental, social and corporate governance indicators; increase the proportion of SMEs led by youth, women; increase the number of students enrolled in dual training, as well as the number of persons trained in Entrepreneurship Development Organization programs. As an effect from the implementation of the national program are expected deregulation actions and simplification of interaction with government agencies; active involvement of the business community in the coordination of draft regulations affecting the business environment and stimulation of investment of small and medium-sized businesses, including with the support of government programs. Other expected effects include: digitization of G2B/G2G services and digitization of companies; strengthening of the infrastructure of multifunctional industrial platforms, business incubators, hubs, accelerators, industrial/creative parks developed/supported by the state; strengthening of the growing sector of business consulting training. Following the discussions, the members of the working group agreed to support the implementation of the program and to monitor the progress in creating a competitive business climate in Moldova, while the business community was asked to submit all proposals in writing, which will allow taking them into account when finalizing the program.
