Moldova will ask for 450 million euros from the European Union amid fears that Gazprom will stop supplying gas this winter - Natalia Gavrilita.
Moldovan Prime Minister said so in an interview with politico.eu. She described as very real the possibility that Gazprom will stop supplying gas to Moldova this winter. "In the worst case there will be a complete disconnection," Natalia Gavrilita said. According to her, in such a situation it will be necessary either to disconnect consumers from electricity, or to pay a higher price for energy. Prime Minister stressed that the energy crisis forced Moldova to buy electricity on the European spot market at a price which is 4 times higher than the previous purchase price. Natalia Gavrilita added that she will ask Moldova's European partners for 450 million euros in aid for this winter at a high-level solidarity summit organized by France on November 21. "We are seeing increased security risks and anxiety; we are seeing a loss of purchasing power and real wages. We are hit by the same problems as the European countries, but at the same time we are much weaker to cope with these problems," Natalia Gavrilita said. // 10.11.2022 - InfoMarket.
