Moldova intends to start with Ukraine the final stage of joint control on the central (Transnistrian) section of the common border from July 1, 2021.
Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi said this on Wednesday, instructing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova to continue the dialogue with colleagues from Ukraine to fulfill this task. Aureliu Ciocoi noted that in recent years, Moldova has many times extended the validity of various tax and customs benefits provided to companies from Transnistria that were not registered with the official bodies of Moldova, but were able to work in its law field and have preferential conditions. The Acting Prime Minister said that the Moldovan authorities are now extending the deadline for the last time until June 30, 2021, within which companies from Transnistria, not registered with the Agency of Public Services of Moldova, can import goods through the checkpoints Pervomaisk-Cuciurgan, Goianul Nou-Platonovo and Novosavitskoe-Cuciurgan in a preferential mode, without collection of import or export duties. “This deadline is extended for them for the last time, and in the future they must bring their activities in line with the norms applicable to all entrepreneurs in Moldova,” said Aureliu Ciocoi. He asked to reflect this in the protocol of the meeting, and instructed the Ministry of Finance, together with the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, to initiate the necessary measures for development by May 15 in the aforementioned context of the draft amendments to the decree of November 7, 2017 on the enactment of the Law of June 9, 2017 No. on measures of border control, customs control and on ensuring the tax regime within the framework of joint control at checkpoints across the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border. // 27.01.2021 — InfoMarket.
