The European Union will continue to assist the development of Moldovan SMEs in order to adapt them to the EU market conditions, to compete successfully and to expand the export of goods

Adam Grodzicki, Deputy Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation to Moldova stated this while speaking at the opening of the 3rd Antreprenor Expo 2024 exhibition in Chisinau, which takes place on October 10-13 at Moldexpo. He stressed the importance of the partnership with the EU for the modernization of the Moldovan economy. “Supporting entrepreneurship and the sustainable development of SMEs is our common goal and underpins the EU's comprehensive approach to private sector development in Moldova. Through the combined use of various complementary instruments such as grants, technical assistance, guarantees, soft loans and advisory services, we aim to maximize the impact of EU support on SME growth and development to strengthen Moldova's economy. We help SMEs to adapt to the new realities and conditions of the EU market, so that they can export their goods and compete successfully, complying with the EU standards and norms,” Adam Grodzicki said. For his part, Director of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), Vadim Codreanu, stressed the importance of supporting SMEs for the local economy, noting that in 4 days at Antreprenor Expo 2024 there is an opportunity to evaluate the talent and innovation of our entrepreneurs. “We have created a platform to disseminate information as well as access to important resources for growth and internationalization. Supporting the development of SMEs is a priority and through initiatives like this we want to foster a stronger and more sustainable economy,” he said. Zinaida Popa, Director of Moldexpo International Exhibition Center, stressed the important role of the event in promoting Moldovan entrepreneurs. “We are proud to host an event of this scale, which supports the growth of local businesses and the creation of new partnerships.” she said. Antreprenor Expo 2024 represents a meeting place for innovators and investors, thus contributing to the development of the private sector in Moldova,” she said. This year's event gathered more than 100 entrepreneurs from different sectors and international experts, providing a platform for interaction and cooperation between local and international companies, investors and business service providers. Within the event takes place the Industrial Suppliers and Engineering Forum, where participants discuss hot topics such as the green and digital transition, the implementation of international standards and the expansion of industrial exports. Antreprenor Expo 2024 is organized by ODA in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization and Moldexpo, with the support of the project “Strong Enterprises and Communities for Moldova”, funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Swiss Government and implemented by GIZ Moldova.
