
Moldova exported almost 3 thousand tons of walnuts in shell in 2023, which is 2 times more than in 2022, when exports amounted to 1,450 tons
This was stated during the 10th Business Summit of walnut producers, held in Chisinau. The event was attended by about 150 nut producers, members of the Nut Growers Association of Moldova, who had the opportunity to learn about the latest legislative changes and their impact on processing and export of nuts, requirements for the quality of nuts and logistics of export to the EU market, as well as financing opportunities to improve export competitiveness. Alexandru Ciobanu, Head of the Information and Consultation Service of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), provided detailed information on available support programs, including financing programs, selection criteria and application procedures. Natalia Agapii, Coordinator of the World Bank-funded SME Competitiveness Program, presented details of the Internationalization Program, which offers grant funding of up to 600 thousand lei to support Moldovan companies in improving their export potential.
