Despite the existence of conditions for free access to the EU market, Moldovan honey is not in demand in significant quantities.
This was announced by honey producers at a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea. According to the ministry, the minister noted that the financial success is the result of the economic approaches of beekeepers - commercial contracts should be concluded in advance to minimize losses. The state provides assistance to support investment in the development of agricultural activities, but entrepreneurs are responsible for the economic viability of agricultural holdings, according to the minister. At the same time, Vladimir Bolea stressed that this year there have been improvements in the distribution of funds from the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas. Small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises receive compensation up to 100% of the value of the excise tax on diesel fuel. Adjustments have also been made in terms of financial support for the processing, packaging and storage of bee honey, as well as subsidizing interest on bank loans to agricultural producers. The parties also discussed topics related to the need to register beekeeping enterprises, improving the health of bees, their reproduction, revision of national laws, industry data and market trends.// 27.07.2022 — InfoMarket
