The Customs Service will approve the rules for customs control over natural gas supplies carried out through the virtual reverse (backhaul) mechanism.
The agency initiated public consultations on the relevant draft document - instructions on customs control of goods transported by means of stationary transport units (STUs). According to the project, the customs declaration for the export/import of natural gas will be submitted through Asycuda World to the customs post 2310 (Gas Transit Center) in accordance with the rules for establishing the place of customs clearance of goods. By the 20th day of each month, the STU operator for gas transportation will submit an act of compliance with the volumes of natural gas that were transported through a stationary transport installation during the previous month. A similar act of confirmation to the Customs Service will be submitted by the operator of the STU for the transportation of electricity, and after the entry into force of the project, the decision of the Customs Service on customs control and registration of electricity when it moves across the customs border of Moldova will cease to be valid. The CS is holding consultations on this project until 13 February. Recall that in January this year, the government amended the legislation, fixing in it a single regulation of customs control for all goods transported by STU - technical means for the continuous transportation of certain goods (electricity, natural gas and oil). The changes introduced will allow for a more widespread use of the mechanism of virtual reversal of gas and electricity between Moldova and neighboring countries.// 08.02.2023 — InfoMarket
