Moldova will improve working conditions for day laborers.
This is provided for by the relevant legislative amendments, which were adopted by the parliament in second reading. The draft law aimed at improving and regulating the working conditions of day laborers was developed by the chairman of the Commission on Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea. In particular, he proposed amendments to the Law on the procedure of casual unskilled labor by day laborers, the Tax Code and the Law on Employment Assistance and Unemployment Insurance. The author of the draft law proposed to increase from 90 to 120 days the period during which day laborers can perform work for the same beneficiary (economic agent) within one calendar year. The same rule applies in the European Union. The draft law also excludes the obligation of a day laborer to be included in the state system of mandatory social insurance on the basis of an individual contract concluded with the National Social Security Agency, as well as the obligation to be insured in the system of mandatory health insurance. These two obligations are the responsibility of the employer. The author of the draft law also proposed to preserve the status of an unemployed person for the period when he performs occasional unskilled labor as a day laborer. Thus, the labor relations between day laborers and employers are transferred into the legal field, and most importantly - day laborers will have the right to have their labor as day laborers taken into account upon retirement. // 17.06.2022 - InfoMarket
