In Moldova, sunflower oil is included in the list of essential goods for which a limited trade margin is provided.

As Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said at a government meeting on Wednesday, the relevant decision was made today by the Commission for Emergency Situations in order to stop the unreasonable rise in prices for these products. The Prime Minister explained that last week everyone was closely following the movements in trade with prices for sunflower oil. At the same time, representatives of retail chains accused manufacturers of raising prices, and the latter, in turn, blamed sellers and retail chains. “Until the situation is clarified, we decided to include sunflower oil in the list of socially significant products, essential goods, for which a limited trade margin is provided. In addition, so that the markup limitation does not affect only manufacturers, it was decided to limit the use of discounts, rebate bonuses and other tools that are usually used in the retail chain,” said Natalia Gavrilita. She stressed that the prices of products included in the list of essential goods for which the margin is regulated have stabilized or even decreased. // 18.05.2022- InfoMarket.
