Moldova has exempted from the national certification procedure food products and essential goods imported from the EU that have European certificates.
This decision was adopted by the Commission for Emergency Situations in order to ensure the necessary supply of food and other products of urgent need, to establish in the country a special and adequate mode of operation for economic agents-operators of the food business during the state of emergency. It is agreed that, in derogation from the provisions of the Law on Veterinary and Sanitary Activities, goods subject to sanitary and veterinary supervision will be placed on the market on the basis of sanitary and veterinary certificates issued in EU countries, without certification by the National Food Safety Authority (ANSA). This should simplify and shorten the time of placing products on the shelves of Moldovan stores and simplify the procedure for replacing products previously imported from countries affected by the current situation in Ukraine with similar products imported from EU countries. It is envisaged that the Customs Service and ANSA will organize activities at border points and at internal customs posts, taking into account the need to ensure the passage of food and essential goods through the border in non-stop and priority mode. // 28.02.2022 - InfoMarket
