The Moldovan government has established a quota for ethyl alcohol for pharmaceutical production and use in medicine in 2021 at 34.99 thousand decaliters.

The size of the quota for 2021 has been increased by 23.3% compared to the previous year (28.3 thousand decaliters). The volumes of ethyl alcohol approved by the Cabinet of Ministers for this year are intended for use in medical institutions and the pharmaceutical industry. In general, within the approved quota, six economic entities - 5 companies and the National Center for Blood Transfusion - will receive ethyl alcohol for medical purposes. The largest ethanol quota in 2021 was allocated to ElaDumPharma - 23.1 thousand decaliters, of which 11.06 thousand decaliters are intended for the winners of centralized public tenders, according to the needs of healthcare institutions.
