Moldovan legislation meets European standards to be able to export livestock products to the EU.

Moldovan legislation meets European standards to be able to export livestock products to the EU.

This was stated by Director General of the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) Vladislav Cotici during a meeting held by the Board of Directors of the Twinning Project "Further support to agriculture, rural development and food safety in the Republic of Moldova." The head of ANSA noted that the assistance provided by the European Union for the areas of responsibility of ANSA within the framework of the mentioned twinning project is an important support on the path to compliance with EU requirements for obtaining the right to export products of animal origin (poultry, eggs, dairy products) on this market. Vladislav Cotici stated that about 87% of the legislation related to these priorities (poultry meat, eggs) has been transferred to the legal framework of Moldova. He called it important to enforce the legislation through the correct application of general and specific procedures that govern the official controls carried out by ANSA's animal health and food safety inspectors. “In the first 6 months of joint activities of the twinning project experts with ANSA specialists, the requirements for the production, export and certification of dairy products (ice cream) were assessed, recommendations were made on the official procedures for the control of poultry and eggs; the National Plan for Monitoring Animal Origin Product Waste was assessed and the Zoonosis Plan was revised,” said Vladislav Cotici. // 19.02.2021 - InfoMarket.
