Moldova celebrates the 100th anniversary of Civil Aviation
Celebratory events marking the occasion took place at the E. Doga International Airport in the capital, including the unveiling of a commemorative plaque dedicated to the 100th anniversary of civil aviation. The anniversary event was attended by representatives of government agencies, aviation industry organizations, the diplomatic corps, and guests from Romania. A joint series of postage stamps commemorating the 100th anniversary of civil aviation was also issued. The project was carried out by Poșta Moldovei, Poșta Română, and Romfilatelia and is intended to commemorate the significance of this anniversary through philately. Moldova’s civil aviation authority noted that on June 24, 1926, the first commercial and mail flight was operated on the Bucharest–Galați–Iași–Chișinău route. This event integrated Chișinău into the regional air transport network and marked the beginning of the development of civil aviation in Moldova. // 24.06.2026 — InfoMarket.
