Moldova to introduce tolls for using national roads from 2028

This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea on TV8. According to him, the new fee will be charged using a model similar to that used in Romania and other European countries, and it will be possible to pay for various periods, from 1 day to 1 year. Vladimir Bolea specified that the amount of the fee will depend on the frequency of use of national roads. Thus, drivers who drive daily will pay more than those who use the road infrastructure from time to time. There will be fees for days of road use: for 1 day, 1 week, 1 year, and so on. Between 2028 and 2034, the fee will be calculated based on the number of days the vehicle traveled on national roads. Data will be collected using cameras installed at the entrances to these roads.
