The earlier decision to limit the number of passengers in public transport was suspended in Moldova until the end of February.
The National Emergency Public Health Commission decided to suspend until February 28 inclusive the provisions on limiting the number of people in railway, road transport of district, local and municipal traffic to 50% of the capacity. This decision was adopted after the most representative carrier associations assured that they would mobilize their members to strictly adhere to measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection in vehicles. According to the decision of the commission, the responsible government agencies received the order, within their competence, to more strictly monitor compliance with measures to prevent and control COVID-19 infection by individuals and legal entities involved in railway and road transport of passengers in local, municipal / district / inter-district, international traffic, as well as related activities (auto / railway stations, technical inspection stations, etc.). According to the press service of the government, if by February 28 the carriers demonstrate the ability to comply with anti-epidemiological measures in transport, the National Emergency Public Health Commission will return to the previous mode of operation. If this does not happen, then the commission will return the limit adopted last week - 50 percent of the total seats in the public transport. Let us recall that the APOTA Association announced a protest action on February 23 in disagreement with the decisions of the commission. At the same time, the Chisinau general mayor said that the existing conditions at municipal public transport enterprises do not allow fulfilling the commission's instructions. At the same time, the commission reversed its previous decision on a special mode of operation for commercial markets. According to the new decision of the commission, the activities of the markets will be regulated by the territorial emergency public health commissions. They will establish the public health measures required in accordance with the degree of risk in the managed administrative territory, in accordance with the COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan. // 22.02.2021 - InfoMarket.
