From January 1, 2021, it is proposed to increase the minimum wage in the real sector to 2935 lei per month.

The corresponding draft amendments to the previous government decree on the guaranteed minimum wage in the real sector were prepared by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection. It is proposed, in particular, from January 1, 2021, to establish a guaranteed minimum wage in the real sector (at self-supporting enterprises, organizations, institutions, regardless of the type of property and legal form) in the amount of 17.37 lei per hour (2935 lei in month, based on an average working time of 169 hours per month). Currently, the minimum wage in the real sector of the economy is 2775 lei per month (16.42 lei per hour). The authors of the project note that when calculating the new level of minimum wages in the real sector, the dynamics of inflation in 2019 compared to 2018 (+ 4.84%), gross value added (+ 3.9%), the average number of employees in real sector (+ 3%). It should be noted that an increase in the minimum wage in the real sector to 2,935 lei per month was planned from May 1, 2020, but was postponed due to the socio-economic crisis due to COVID-19.// 10.12.2020 — InfoMarket.
