1,845 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in Moldova over the past weekend, including 105 among healthcare workers.
Thus, the total number of people infected with the virus since the beginning of the pandemic is 82 346 people, of which almost 43% (35 361) - in Chisinau municipality. During a meeting of municipal services on Monday, it was noted that the "red code" related to coronavirus spread danger remains in the capital, and the competent authorities are closely monitoring the development of the situation. In case hospitals run out of places for infected COVID-19, the municipality has prepared 200 additional beds. A tender has also been announced for the procurement of 11 vehicles for municipal health services that will improve the capacity to manage the COVID-19 situation. Currently, 17,945 people are still active across the country and are being treated in hospitals or at home. The condition of 852 people is assessed as grave, 46 patients are connected to mechanical ventilation devices, 1587 people are in average condition, and the rest are in satisfactory condition. From the complications caused by COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,893 people have died, which is 2.3% of the total number of people infected with the virus in Moldova.
