Gas prices for Moldovan consumers may fall in 2026, with new tariffs to be set by ANRE at the end of January and valid for one year
As announced by the acting CEO of the state-owned company Energocom, Eugeniu Buzatu, the final tariffs, to be approved by the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) at the end of January, will remain in effect, including during the next cold season. Eugeniu Buzatu clarified that Energocom had previously reported that the purchase price of natural gas for the current gas year was 38.5 euros/MWh, which is lower than the previous level included in the current tariff for end consumers. According to him, the new gas tariff will most likely be lower than the current one, but calculations are still ongoing. The final decision on the tariff is to be made by ANRE. This is expected to happen before the end of January, and the new tariffs will be valid for one calendar year, including the next heating season. Currently, Moldovagaz residential consumers pay 15.5 lei per 1 cubic meter (excluding VAT), or 16.74 lei including VAT. In mid-September 2025, Energocom reported that the average purchase price of gas for Moldova in the 2025-2026 gas year is forecast to be around €38.5/MWh (€410/1000 cubic meters), including the cost of transportation to Moldova's virtual trading point. // 09.01.2026 - InfoMarket
