The calendar of the first auctions for large renewable energy capacities in Moldova has been updated and they will be announced in June – the Ministry of Energy.

According to the ministry, the application period for participation in them has been extended and is scheduled for September-December. Earlier it was planned that tenders for the construction of wind and photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of 165 MW in Moldova would be announced in April or May. According to the new calendar released by the Ministry of Energy, the tender procedure is scheduled to start in June with the publication of the announcement and tender documents. In July, a workshop will be held on the preparation of bids, technical and financial proposals, including a roadmap. In September-December the procedure for submission and acceptance of bids, technical and financial proposals is scheduled. According to the Energy Ministry, the launch in Moldova of the first tenders for the construction of large renewable energy capacities for fixed-price electricity generation will allow building large wind and photovoltaic power plants, reducing dependence on energy imports, decarburizing the economy and creating new jobs. They will also contribute to Moldova's commitment to achieve a renewable energy share of 27% of final energy consumption by 2030. A total capacity of 165 MW has been allocated for large-scale renewable capacity, divided by technology: 105 MW for wind installations and 60 MW for photovoltaic. Energy Minister Victor Parlicov noted earlier that the winners of the auctions will receive a guaranteed fixed price for 15 years for the electricity produced. The guaranteed fixed price will be determined during the auction and cannot exceed the maximum price of 1.5 lei/kWh for wind power and 1.67 lei/kWh for solar power, set by the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE). Under the planned tender for large-scale renewable energy capacity by 2025, investments of about 190 million euros are expected to be invested in Moldova in the construction of wind and photovoltaic parks. // 05.06.2024 - InfoMarket.
