Moldova has not yet received a reply from Gazprom on gas supplies from May 1, but the government has alternative solutions for last resort, Natalia Gavrilita said.
Moldovan Prime Minister said this while answering journalists' questions. "Earlier, we clarified our position on the postponement of the obligation to audit the debt, but we have not yet received a response from Gazprom, and therefore the supply of Russian gas from May 1 is in question. At the same time, the government has alternative solutions in case Gazprom stops supplying gas to Moldova. Citizens will not be left without gas in any case," the head of the Cabinet said. She said that, just as last October, Energocom can buy gas on the international market, and the more so, since less gas is needed now. After the heating season is over, the volume of consumption has decreased markedly. "Both prices of "blue fuel" on the world market and duration of supplies in the medium and long term are important for us now," Natalia Gavrilita stressed. Andrei Spinu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development said that in case Gazprom does not deliver gas starting from May 1, Moldova will have to buy it from international traders, with 7 companies, including from Romania, Poland, the Netherlands and other countries expressing their willingness to deliver gas to Moldova. // 28.04.2022 - InfoMarket
