Nineteen Moldovan wine companies presented their products at the 8th Japan International Food & Beverage Expo (JFEX) in Tokyo
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the National Bureau of Vine and Wine, and the Embassy of Moldova in Japan, the Japan International Food & Beverage Expo (JFEX Tokyo 2026) is taking place in Tokyo from June 24 to 26 and is one of Japan's most important venues dedicated to the food and wine industries. At the Wine of Moldova national stand, organized by the National Bureau of Vine and Wine, Moldovan Ambassador to Japan Sergiu Mihov spoke with representatives of the participating companies and reaffirmed the Embassy's support for promoting Moldovan wines on the Japanese market, a priority of economic diplomacy. During the exhibition, 19 Moldovan wine companies presented their products to Japanese importers, distributors, retailers, and HoReCa representatives, providing an opportunity to establish business connections and establish useful commercial contacts. A tasting of Moldovan wines was held simultaneously, led by Satoru Mori, one of Japan's most renowned sommeliers, who emphasized the quality and uniqueness of the wines produced under the Wine of Moldova brand. Moldova's presence at JFEX Tokyo 2026 confirms its interest in expanding the presence of Moldovan wines on the Japanese market and throughout Asia. The Moldovan Embassy in Japan will continue to support the promotion of national products, dialogue with the Japanese business community, and economic diplomacy initiatives. It was previously reported that Moldova is increasing its wine exports to Japan, and in 2025, it ranked 13th among the leading wine suppliers to the Japanese market, moving up three places in the past year. //25.06.2026 – InfoMarket.
