The best Moldovan wines received awards at the 24th “Wine Vernissage” held under the slogan “Our wine conquers the world”, attended by more than 1,500 wine connoisseurs
Guests had the opportunity to taste more than 700 wines, including 55 new ones, presented by 72 producers. At the same time, this year's wine exhibition was a special opportunity for the entire industry to celebrate the achievements of the current year, which have brought Moldovan wine significant international recognition. The director of the National Office of Vine and Wine (ONVV), Stefan Iamandi, noted that this year's “Wine Vernissage” was dedicated to the successes of the outgoing year, which was full of challenges but also outstanding achievements. In 2025, Moldova found itself at the center of international attention. It hosted a major scientific forum: the 46th World Congress of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), which was an absolute first for our country. This year, Moldova also hosted the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, an event dedicated to sparkling wines, which strengthened Moldova's position in the sparkling wine market. “These are two important historical moments that have shown us that Moldovan winemaking is a mature, respected, and internationally recognized player,” emphasized the head of the ONVV. Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Ludmila Catlabuga expressed gratitude to everyone who appreciates wine and the work behind each bottle. According to her, 2025 clearly confirmed that Moldova rightfully occupies an important place on the world wine map, and Moldovan wine today is not only a product of the highest quality, but also an important pillar of rural development and the growth of wine tourism. “Our direction for future development is clear and can only be achieved through joint efforts. I express my sincere gratitude to all winemakers for their achievements and contribution to strengthening this strategic sector,” said the head of the Ministry of Agriculture. This year, the traditional annual “Knight of Wine” title was bestowed for significant contributions to the promotion and development of the wine sector. For the first time, this award was given to several officials, including the State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Adrian Digolean, the Head of the Department of Wine Products and Alcoholic Beverages of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Liliana Dascaliuc, and the CEO of Vinaria din Vale, Vladimir Davidescu. As is tradition, visitors expressed their preferences through a specially created digital platform, awarding points to the wines they tasted. The products that received the most votes from the public were awarded the following prizes: Best red wine - Red Blend 1952 (Cricova factory); Best sparkling wine - Cuvée des Fleurs (Mileștii Mici factory); Best divin (cognac) - Divin 7 ani (Vinăria Ialoveni). The “Wine Vernissage” is a prestigious event dedicated to promoting wine culture and responsible consumption of quality wines. The event is organized by the National Office of Vine and Wine, whose mission is to promote the image of wine products both domestically and in export markets. At the national level, the ONVV supports wine culture through events that bring Moldovan wine closer to consumers, encourage responsible consumption, and promote the recognition of wine as an integral part of our identity. // 16.12.2025 — InfoMarket
