During the meeting, the progress of the "Moldova Sustainable Water Supply (Irrigation) Project" was assessed and further steps needed for its implementation were discussed. The project aims to increase farmers' access to safe water sources by rehabilitating two centralized irrigation systems in the Ștefan Voda, Criuleni, and Anenii Noi districts, and expanding the service area to approximately 6,900 hectares. The project also includes capacity building for farmers, irrigation water user associations, and institutions responsible for managing irrigation infrastructure. During the discussions, Ludmila Catlabuga emphasized that expanding access to irrigation and modernizing irrigation infrastructure are priorities for the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. At the same time, she emphasized the importance of responsible and effective use of these systems by farmers to ensure their sustainable operation and full return on investment.// 14.07.2026 – InfoMarket.
