ODA Announces First Decision to Finance Energy Transition in Moldova under FACEM Investiții BGK Program

As announced by the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) under the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, in particular, the first beneficiary of the FACEM Investments BGK program, implemented with the support of the Polish Banca Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) with the aim of financing measures to improve energy efficiency and adapt to climate change, was an entrepreneur from the village of Congaz, who offers catering and event organization services, with almost 40 employees. The funding he received will be used to install a photovoltaic system with a three-phase inverter with a capacity of 40 kW and 109 solar panels with a total capacity of 59.95 kW, aimed at reducing electricity costs and promoting the energy independence of the business. Based on the contract signed between ODA and FinComBank, the amount of funding provided to it is 548 thousand lei, and the total cost of the investment project is 710 thousand lei. In addition, according to the provisions of the financial product FACEM BGK Investments, the beneficiary will be able to participate in an international study visit organized by Solidarity Fund, with full coverage of the related costs. This initiative will contribute to the exchange of best practices and the development of skills in the field of energy efficiency. As noted by ODA, the beneficiaries of the financial product FACEM BGK Investments receive a grant in the form of technical assistance, which includes several essential components. They have access to direct consulting on training entrepreneurial skills through 10 thematic trainings dedicated to SMEs. In addition, applicants can benefit from individual consultations on the preparation of loan documentation in the form of business vouchers in the amount of 500 to 1,000 euros, depending on the complexity of the investment project, intended for the development of business plans and preparation of a dossier for financing. At the same time, the program provides for the organization of international study visits for 20 SMEs, including the first 10 beneficiaries of the financial product, as well as 10 beneficiaries who have implemented the investment project and achieved the best results in relation to the program objectives. Earlier, Banca Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) and the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of Moldova signed a loan agreement for 5 million euros, intended to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Moldova in the implementation of energy efficiency projects. This loan is supplemented by a grant from the European Union in the amount of about 1.6 million euros. The EU assistance consists of reducing the interest rate on loans obtained through BGK financing, as well as providing technical assistance for completing loan applications and conducting energy audits. The technical assistance will be provided in cooperation with the Polish Solidarity Fund, an important player in Polish development cooperation// 17.03.2025 — InfoMarket.
