The financial means intended for construction and maintenance of roads have been used this year in Moldova at almost 80%.

According to the press service of the government, this was reported during the meeting of the Road Fund Board, whose members carried out a general analysis of the progress of construction, repair and maintenance of national roads. Also there were presented the reasons that led to the delay of some works or concerning the completion of the works on some parts of the road. Also, it was discussed the preparation of roads for the cold season, including the identification and use of improved road maintenance technologies. According to the report submitted by the State Road Administration, until the beginning of December, there were mastered 76.1% of the funds allocated under the Program for the distribution of Road Fund means for national public roads for 2022, which amounted to 1 billion 810 million 899.9 thousand lei. However, it is expected that by the end of this year about 90% will be absorbed, given that the works carried out in November-December are to be commissioned. Representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development said that 300 km of roads have been restored and repaired this year, of which 43 km are new roads. Moreover, at the expense of external funds received in 2022, a number of road segments, which had been in repair work for several years, were successfully completed. At the end of the meeting it was decided to reallocate unused funds for certain road maintenance works. Members of the Road Fund Board decided that the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development should order the initiation of procedures to improve the legislation in terms of regulation of legal procedures for the execution of public works of national importance. Thus, it was suggested that the authorization documents or those necessary for the implementation of treaties and international agreements should be issued by a structure subordinated to this ministry. At the same time it was noted the need to observe the warranty periods provided for in the contracts of road construction, depending on their intensity and according to the rules stipulated by the approved Code of Practice. // 28.12.2022 - InfoMarket
