The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) presented such data, informing that, at the same time, the total income of insurers in January-September 2023 amounted to 3 billion 524.4 million lei, exceeding by 24.8% the indicators of the same period of the previous year, while their expenses increased by 22% over the year - up to 3 billion 177 million lei. According to the NBS, in 9 months of 2023, the gross premiums accrued by insurance companies amounted to 2 billion 183.8 million lei, exceeding by 20% the gross premiums accrued in the same period of the previous year. At the same time, the payments of insurance indemnities and compensations in January-September 2023 amounted to 715.6 million lei and increased by 13.9% compared to the payments in the same period of 2022. According to official statistics, the premiums for general insurance increased by 20.8% - to 2 billion 111.8 million lei, while reimbursements - by 14% - to 672.8 million lei. In life insurance, the volume of premiums decreased by 0.8% - to 99.2 million lei, but the volume of reimbursements increased by 12.4% - to 42.9 million lei. It is worth mentioning that more than 54.4% of the total volume of general insurance premiums in January-September 2023 accounted for the compulsory motor liability insurance - 1 billion 149.7 million lei (+36.4%, compared to the same period of 2022) and 18.8% - for the insurance of land transport means (CASCO) - 398 million lei (+18.9%). The same types of insurance accounted for the largest volume of reimbursements - 54.5% and 31.4%, respectively: for MTPL insurance reimbursements amounted to 367.1 million lei (+28%), and for CASCO - 211.4 million lei (+8.6%). Other demanded types of insurance: fire, other natural disasters and other property insurance, for which premiums amounted to 232.4 million lei (-3.3%), and indemnities - 28.7 million lei (+7.1%); health insurance - premiums amounted to 108.4 million lei (+7.4%), indemnities - 51 million lei (+51.9%), etc. // 24.11.2023 - InfoMarket.
