Maib, in partnership with TUM, launches the "You drive IT" Scholarship Program for the first time, promoting inclusion and gender equality

At maib, we believe in the power of women's talent and ability to transform the world of technology. We are delighted to announce the launch of the "You drive IT" Scholarship Program for women students of the Technical University of Moldova (TUM) in IT and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
37 women passionately work on the maib IT team, but we know we can do more. With this scholarship program, we aim to grow and support future women leaders in technology.
Under this program, we will award 5 one-off scholarships, each worth 15,000 MDL, to TUM students in the IT and STEM fields who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and remarkable commitment to extracurricular activities and volunteering.
Through these scholarships, we aim to support academic excellence and commitment to sustainability, innovation and social responsibility. We want the award-winning students to become ambassadors of change and contribute to developing a fair and sustainable technology industry.
Application dossier
To participate in the program, each student should send the following to resurseumane@maib.md:

  •      - Academic record for the study year 2023-2024 with the minimum grade level – 8;
  •      - Diplomas, certificates or other documents confirming participation in voluntary activities, as well as articles and other publications in the IT field;
  •      - A  video cover letter of up to 1 minute;
  •      - Essay of 2500-3000 characters on the topic: Overcoming Challenges in the Technology Age: How Women in IT and STEM are Changing the Industry's Future.
Eligibility
Students in Cycle I Bachelor, 3rd-4th year of study, and Cycle II Master, 1st-2nd year, full-time studies, from the following faculties are eligible:
  •      - Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications
  •      - Faculty of Energetics and Electrical Engineering
  •      - Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics
  •      - Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Transport
 
Deadline
The deadline for sending application forms is June 14, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. The application examination period is between June 15 and 30, 2024. The winners will be announced in early July this year.
This initiative reaffirms maib's commitment to promoting gender equality and supporting talented women in IT and STEM fields.
