Maib supports customers investing in renewable energy. USBA has built a photovoltaic park in the south of the country

Projects that support the development of renewable energy, which have a social and economic impact on our country, are on maib's priority list. Thus, because we know that the future means renewable energy, innovative technologies and the development of the green segment, maib has financed one of the largest and the most technological projects in this field, carried out so far in the Republic of Moldova, providing an investment loan to USBA.

The project financed the construction of a renewable energy park: a photovoltaic park with a total installed capacity of 7 MW located in the village of Crihana Veche in the Cahul district, on an area of 11 ha. It was designed using complex technologies applied worldwide, increasing its productivity by about 30%.

The electricity generated by the 7MW photovoltaic park is enough to power 2 600 houses for one year, 44 950 homes for one hour or 89 000 km for electric cars.

Valeriu Stratan, Chairman of the USBA Board:
"When we started the project to build the renewable energy park, we knew from the beginning that we would only be able to successfully realise it with a strategic and reliable partner like maib. The bank supported us, providing both financing and professional advice. We appreciated that it trusted the project, sharing the same values for a sustainable future of our country."

Dumitru Baxan, maib Deputy Chairman of the Management Board:
"The renewable energy park construction project reiterates maib's commitment to supporting innovative ideas and sustainable, environmentally friendly projects. By financing this project, we are investing in a promising field for the future, which will ensure the development of green energy in the Republic of Moldova and bring us closer to the European practices with which we resonate.

Our customer's (or partner's) project, USBA, is the most technologically complex launched in the country. We are glad that the maib team has contributed to its realisation."

USBA, financially supported by maib, implemented the project and aims to promote innovation, expand investment in renewable energy and align with EU green energy policies.

Maib - we join efforts, we develop business!
