Alto for the future, second edition: what we leave behind matters

Alto customers who recently celebrated their anniversary were invited by maib to a tree planting event in the capital's National Botanical Garden "Alexandru Ciubotaru". Each customer, alone or together with his family, planted birch trees, the symbol of youth, prosperity and purity. This being the second edition of the "alto for the future" cycle of events, the birch sapling patch has become more and more extensive, and the smiles and enthusiasm of the customers are more and more obvious because the philosophy shared by the altocommunity is simple what we leave behind matters.

Aliona Stratan, maib First Deputy Chairwoman of the Management Board:

"When we launched the project, we probably underestimated its emotional impact. With each edition, we see more and more clients with their husbands, wives, children and grandmothers planting birch trees out of a desire to leave a mark for the future, to do one more good deed in the community, and to provide a lesson for the next generation. Alto is not about banking but a service that goes outside the bank that is always with customers: in banking, business, travel, family situations, soul projects.

The planting date, September 16, coincided with the International Day for the Protection of the Ozone Layer. Even if the tree-planting event has no direct impact on the ozone layer, this joint movement is a step towards a better future and a contribution of the alto community to a greener environment.

Ion Gangura, maib alto customer:

"Such an event is innovative for Moldova, our banking sector has never organised this. I am happy to participate with my family in such a tree planting event, which is welcome for the bank, the bank's customers, Moldova, and the Botanical Garden".

Tree planting events as part of the alto for the future project are just one element of the alto team's journey with customers to unite people around projects that will last over time.

Ina Luca, maib alto customer:

”This is a great project. It is said that everyone in life has to build a house, raise children and plant a tree. I have a house, and I have raised two beautiful children, but unfortunately, even though I come from a village, I have never planted a tree. Thank you for this opportunity. I will come on purpose to check how this birch tree grows. With this gesture, you have motivated me to come more often to the Botanical Garden and I am happy to be an alto customer."

The dedicated team at the National Botanical Garden "Alexandru Ciubotaru" will take care of the alto forest, for which the maib alto team is extremely grateful.
