Emotions and adrenaline were at their peak for maib employees, as this race was the first participation of the "Activ la Superlativ" community abroad. Athletes and amateurs of this type of activity had the opportunity to register to cover four distances: 21 km half marathon, 10 km cross country, 5 km cross country and 2.5 km popular cross country.
One of the best results in the competition was obtained by Ivan Bugacredit manager. Ivan ran the distance of 21 km in 1h 29min, occupying the 22nd place out of 505 runners registered and the 12th place in the age category 18-34 years.
“It was my first experience of running a half marathon, and it was an extraordinary one. The 21 km race differs from the marathon and involves maximum effort for the entire distance traveled. It is the race where endurance and speed go hand in hand. I had the pleasure to participate with beautiful people from the maib team, and each of them is a winner because he had the courage and the preparation to participate and reach the finish line well”.
Even though she started running relatively recently, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cristina Dolgaia, the leading controlling specialist, has already established herself in running competitions such as Trail Run at Orheiul Vechi and Chisinau International Marathon 2021. At the race in Romania, Cristina ran a distance of 10 km with her colleagues.
“Everything was far above expectations. The bank took care to have good training, organized transport, rest on the eve of the competition in the center of Iasi and spectacular participation in the race. I want to continue to train in the same composition, to participate this year with my colleagues in the bank at the Chisinau International Marathon and other local and international races, to advance to the next level, my objective being to cover the distance of 21 km. I appreciate that maib shares my values of healthy living and social solidarity".
With Cristina, also ran Ludmila Ursu, a transaction support specialistDumitru Niculăiţă, brand manager SME and corporate. And after two days of the competition, they talk enthusiastically about the emotions they experienced.
“I am grateful to the bank for supporting this sports initiative and helping us capitalize on the team spirit, promoting movement and an active way of life. I am proud of the colleagues in the maib who gave sparks to our feet and gave us positive thoughts and good cheer. I strongly believe in the "Activ la Superlativ” Community – we are a force that I hope will grow and unite us, Ludmila said.
“I participated in various local events, but running a competition abroad is something new, different. We are proud that we represented maib at this race in Iasi and that we were one of the most numerous participating corporate teams. One of the most important advantages that this type of event offers is that they unite us as a team. Even if we work in various departments, we share the same passion – running”, added Dumitru.
